Tubid escapes suspension but made to pay the penalty for hit on Castro

Tubid escapes suspension but made to pay the penalty for hit on CastroRUGGED Petron guard Ronald Tubid escaped suspension but he will be slapped with an undisclosed fine following his highly publicized "cheap shot" on Talk 'N Text star Jayson Castro.

The 32-year old Oton, Iloilo native apeared before PBA commissioner Chito Salud on Friday morning to hear his side on the blow to Castro's midsection that marred Petron's 122-88 win over the Texters on Wednesday.

“Kinausap ako ni Kume. Tapos pinag-explain.

Tubid even shared to Salud how he tried to reach out to Castro to apologize, which the cat-quick Talk 'N Text guard later accepted.

Salud later gave bruiser Tubid a piece of his mind.

So dun mo i-channel ang energy mo kung paano mo pa mas lalong ilalabas yun,” the PBA chieftain added.

Tubid’s summon came exactly a week after Salud suspended Marc Pingris, Joe Devance and Kelly Nabong for their involvement in the fracas that rocked the San Mig Coffee-Globalport game last September 4.
