Looking to invest on rookie picks in the PBA Draft, the reigning Commissioner’s Cup champion is reportedly putting on the trading block young big man Aldrech Ramos.

Multiple sources by Spin.ph revealed the Aces are actually willing to let go of the sweet-shooting former Gilas Pilipinas center in exchange for future rookie picks.

“Pinapalit sa amin yun eh. Pero nag-usap na kami na hold muna,” said one of the sources who’s privy to the negotiations.

An Alaska insider meanwhile, told Spin.ph the team is really interested in getting draft picks using the lanky 6-foot-6 former Far Eastern University stalwart and possibly other young players as trade baits.

“Future pick, not necessarily next year, ang hinahanap namin,” said the source who also bared the Aces are in the hunt for a veteran guard who can spruced up Alaska’s already formidable backcourt.

“Kung may mahahanap na reliable na guwardiya, puwede naming ipalit. OK naman big man line-up namin. We can sacrifice a little,” added the source. “Pero pick talaga ang priority namin.”

The Aces are also keen including in the package their 2013 first round pick as the team hopes to maintain an intact core for at least two more years.

If ever this will mark the fourth time Ramos will be traded in just his freshman year in Asia's pioneering pro league.

He was selected fifth overall in last year’s Draft by Barako Bull but traded afterwards to San Mig Coffee for Sean Anthony and the 12th pick overall.

After a short stint with the Mixers, he was dealt back to Barako along with JC Intal and Jonas Villanueva for in exchange for Alex Mallari, Leo Najorda, Lester Alvarez, and Petron’s 2014 first round pick in a multi-player, three-team trade.

But on the same day, he was shipped to Alaska in yet another multi-trade trade that landed Mac Baracael for Ginebra.

Alaska is reportedly talking to three teams, hoping to seal a deal before the worth of the future draft picks start to gain value.
