AFTER a short delay, Joseph Yeo's move to Air21 Express is close to getting the GREEN light.
The seldom-used Petron guard is set to reunite with Air21 coach Franz Pumaren and a number of former La Salle Green Archers in a trade that will send Mark Isip to the Boosters camp.
The trade is a slight deviation from the original transaction previously agreed upon by Petron and Air21, which was supposed to trade blue-collar forward Nerbert Omolon for Yeo.
That deal (for full story, see Omolon excited, Yeo takes wait-and-see approach as trade looms) was shelved for two weeks by San Miguel before it was revived with Isip, and not Omolon, in the equation.
Isip has become expendable at the Air21 camp following another trade completed last week that brought in 6-9 man-mountain Asi Taulava in a four-player trade with Meralco that also involved Mike Cortez.
Sources said the papers for the tweaked trade agreement are set to be signed within the day (Tuesday), with Yeo expected to practice with the Express for the first time on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, there are doubts that the second component of the original transaction would still push through following Air21's acquisition of Taulava in a straight trade with Meralco.
The second wave was supposed to involve Ginebra veteran Kerby Raymundo, Taulava, James Sena (who was sent to Meralco as part of the Taulava deal), and the 2014 first-round pick of the Express.
