EXACTLY a week after being involved in a scuffle with some San Mig Coffee Mixers players, Alaska Aces super rookie Calvin Abueva again found himself at the center of yet another fight on Saturday.
This time, the former NCAA MVP came under attack from Barako Bull star Danny Seigle following a skirmish for the rebound during the two teams’ tune-up match at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.
The incident happened in the closing minutes of the second quarter of a physical match, just after Barako Bull guard Keith Jensen picked up an ‘and one’ play off a foul of Alaska import Wendell McKiness.
After both going for the rebound, Seigle went after Abueva. He shoved the Alaska rookie to the floor then pinned him to the wall at the corner of the gym.
Players from both teams rushed to the floor before cooler heads managed to separate the two, who were both ejected in the tune-up match eventually won by Barako Bull, 104-97.
According to team insiders, Seigle claimed he blew his top because Abueva had elbowed him in the plays before the scuffle.
Watch video of the incident:
The incident followed an incident in the Aces’ tune-up match against San Mig Coffee where Abueva was shoved to the floor by Joe DeVance after he felt was a deliberate effort on the rookie's part to hurt a driving Alex Mallari during a Mixers' fastbreak.

The scuffle soon triggered a heated exchange of words between San Mig coach Tim Cone and Alaska's Luigi Trillo
