Lowhorn keeps cool after being called a 'bum' by Cornley in Twitter tirade

BARANGAY Ginebra import Dior Lowhorn kept his cool after being called a "bum" by former Rain or Shine import Jamelle Cornley in a Twitter tirade, saying he would "rather keep my ethics intact."

The soft-spoken Lowhorn said he doesn't want to waste time engaging last season's Governors Cup best import in a war of words, adding he'd rather focus on his job with Ginebra.

“I don’t even have a Twitter account to begin with,” said the former Asean Basketball League top scorer.

Moments after Lowhorn and his Ginebra team suffered their secon loss in three games at thands of Barako Bull, 91-104, Cornley took to Twitter and bragged about his being the superior import between the two.

“Lowhorn is a BUM,” tweeted the controversial Penn State-educated cager in response to a follower after praising Barako Bull’s import Michael Singletary in a previous tweet.

“Singletary from Barako has a “motor” and love it,” he said.



Cornley, who lost a chance to return to Rain or Shine after being jailed for going wild in a Manila hotel, then went on to engage sports reporter Dennis Principe in a Twitter war after the latter tagged him in message: “Did @MrCornley52 just call Lowhorn a bum? If so, it's so improper, Mr. Cornley.”

To which, Cornley replied: “I'm the BEST IMPORT, I say what I want.”

The 6-5 power forward’s rant on the social network continued: “I did what I came to do. Desperate never. Philippines isn't the only place that has ATM's or writes checks,” he tweeted.

“(I am not an arrogant import) I'd say proven, misunderstood and a CHAMPION,” he replied to an angry fan.

Lowhorn, though, refused to be drawn into a spat, saying he’d rather focus on his next game and how to bring Ginebra back to the winning column.

“I don’t care about that (Cornley’s tweets),” he said. “I did all I can do, man, 30 points, ten rebounds, 11 of 18 (field goal percentage).”

“It’s not about me. It’s just about our team. But we still have six games left.”

Asked if he thinks Cornley only wants his job as the controversial American also tweeted: “only player that plays with a "Never Say Die" mindset. Lowhorn replied: “I don’t know… Maybe. I don’t know!”
